The Eclipse (Zaćmienie) universe didn't just appear out of nowhere. Its roots go back to around 2014, right when I was pregnant. I had always been fascinated by UFO documentaries, alien abduction stories, and the mysteries of deep space. Becoming a mother brought those themes home in a raw, emotional way. I kept asking myself: what would a mother actually do if extraterrestrials took her child? That fear birthed Sara, her children, and the core narrative.
In the beginning, drawing the comic was chaotic. I initially used an anime style, but I soon realized it failed to convey the weight and gravity of a true dark sci-fi setting. So, I stepped back. I put the drawing on hold to refine my art style and write a script that could properly support the lore. Looking at the result today, I am genuinely proud of that choice.
Eclipse – beginning premiered in January for the Polish-speaking market, but for reasons known to some and unknown to others, everything changed. Living abroad, I realized how difficult it is to stay active in the Polish market, making English my main priority moving forward.
I love this world and I am still building it - the comic is planned for about 10 volumes, and the script keeps expanding. Often, it feels like the characters have a life of their own, and I am simply following them to document their journey.
If you love creator-owned indie comics, dark sci-fi, and immersive storytelling, welcome to MYRKVI. This is where the Eclipse universe lives.
